NOISE POP PODCAST

From Winter 2014 to Spring 2017, I produced the bi-monthly podcast for the Bay Area's beloved, music event organization Noise Pop, which is responsible for the annual Noise Pop Festival and Treasure Island Festival along with dozens of other events throughout the year. Here are a few of my favorite episodes.

Best Songs of 2016

This episode was dedicated to our favorite songs released in 2016, featuring picks from our production team (Adrian Spinelli, Dawson Ludwig, and I), and guest picks by Jay Som’s Melina Duterte, Day Wave’s Jackson Phillips, Bells Atlas’ Sandra Lawson-Ndu, and journalist Alyssa Pereira.

My Mix: Thao Nguyen

Thao & The Get Down Stay Down frontwoman, Thao Nguyen, takes us through songs that inspired her while creating her most recent album, A Man Alive, including cuts from Digable Planets, The Pixies, Run The Jewels, and Missy Elliott. She also leads us through the songwriting and composition process behind one of her own tracks.

Thievery Corporation’s Rob Garza and Trails and Ways’ Keith Brower-Brown guest on this episode, and weigh-in on how the sound and culture of Brazil has affected them and their music, as we take you through a deep dive into “The Sounds of Brazil.”
